"Karl-Gerät" (040 and 041) (literally "Karl's engine" in German), also known as Thor and Mörser Karl, was a German self-propelled World War II designed and built by Rheinmetall. It was the greatest self-propelled weapon to see service. Its heaviest ammunition was 60 cm in diameter, 2170 kg in weight and the range of its lighter projectile of 1250 kg was little more than 10 km. Each weapon had to be accompanied by a crane, a heavy transport trailer and several tanks modified to carry ammunition.
